OMODA C7 AND JAECOO J5 SET FOR PUBLIC REVEAL AT THE 2025 FESTIVAL OF MOTORING
OMODA & JAECOO South Africa to reveal the all-new J5 and C7 at the 2025 Festival of Motoring. JAECOO J5 makes its public premiere, while OMODA C7 is previewed ahead of its local launch. Brand OJ is strengthening its lineup with new models and advanced SHS plug-in hybrid technology. OMODA & JAECOO are set to reveal two new vehicles at the upcoming 2025 Festival of Motoring, with the J5 and C7 making public appearances ahead of their respective reveals. This double showcase of Brand OJ’s upcoming products highlights the diversity and strength of the company’s ever-growing portfolio, which has recently expanded to accommodate the SHS plug-in hybrid versions of the JAECOO J7 and OMODA C9. The J5 – JAECOO’s compact and trendy SUV – will steal the show with its elegant exterior styling and high-end cabin finishes. Powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, the J5 will be offered across three trim levels (Vortex, Glacier and Inferno), both of which boast strong levels of standard equipment. With alloy wheels, leather upholstery, and power-operated front seats fitted as standard, the J5 brings features from the luxury car class into the mainstream segment, allowing drivers to enjoy luxuries usually associated with significantly more expensive vehicles. Festival of Motoring will allow the public to get up close and personal with the J5, experiencing its premium interior finishes first-hand. The cabin features soft-touch plastics, a 13.2-inch touchscreen, and carefully selected materials designed to feel both welcoming and contemporary. The J5 isn’t just about luxury, but practicality too, with as much as 1,284 litres of packing space available when the second row is stowed away. On the safety front, the J5 impresses with a full suite of driver assistance systems. Both Glacier and Inferno models receive Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane-Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Prevention, Emergency Lane Keeping, and a 1.45m panoramic moon-roof, among other features. “The J5 represents an exciting new chapter for JAECOO in South Africa,” commented Shannon Gahagan, National Brand and Marketing Manager for OMODA & JAECOO South Africa. “It combines sophistication and practicality in a way that makes premium quality accessible to more people, while delivering the comfort, technology, and safety that modern drivers expect.” While JAECOO anticipates the arrival of the J5 to its lineup, the OMODA family will also grow with the introduction of the new C7. Slotting in between the popular C5 – Brand OJ’s best-selling model range – and the luxurious C9, the C7 will offer local consumers a choice of a conventional petrol engine or an efficient and powerful SHS plug in hybrid variant, which offers combined outputs of 255 kW and 525 N.m of torque, plus a combined driving range of around 1,200 km. Continuing the tradition of well-equipped, tech-forward vehicles from OMODA, the C7 comes equipped with a host of safety, luxury, and convenience features, including heating and ventilation for the front row seats, as well as a massage function for the passenger seat. The C7, particularly the SHS, represents Brand OJ’s commitment to democratising electrification and plug-in hybrid vehicles, which have remained out of reach for the majority of South Africans for far too long. “By offering both petrol and SHS plug-in hybrid options for the C7, we’re giving South Africans access to advanced technology that blends performance with efficiency, and without compromising on comfort or luxury,” added Gahagan. As OMODA and JAECOO prepare to showcase their latest models at the 2025 Festival of Motoring, they reaffirm a vision that blends innovation with lifestyle appeal. With milestone debuts, immersive brand experiences, and a leadership team shaping the future of mobility in South Africa, 2025 marks the next chapter in their journey of growth and connection
